There may be many situations you find yourself in where you will need to know how to excuse yourself or to apologize. In this lesson, we will cover some of these situations.Excuse me. Excuse me.
Situations where you would use excuse me (note the different tones):
If you want to get someone’s attention.
If you didn't hear or understand what a person said.
If you yawn, cough or sneeze in someone's presence, or if you accidentally get in someone’s path while walking.Pardon me. Pardon me.
Pardon me and excuse me are generally used in similar situations. Situations where you would use pardon me (note the different tones again):
If you want to get someone’s attention. If you yawn, cough or sneeze in someone's presence, or if you accidentally get in someone’s path while walking.I'm sorry. I'm VERY sorry. I'm sorry. I'm VERY sorry.
Anytime you need to apologize you could use "I'm sorry".
